| - The effect of polypropylene textile (PT) cover on tuber mass, haulm mass, length of hill and tuber number of potatoes in the variety Impala and the effect of the date of PT removal on the yield-forming components were studied in the growing season 2006 in two sites Praha-Suchdol and Přerov n. Labem. In the experiment two variants with different date of removal of PT (25th and 45th DAP) and control uncovered variant (for comparison) were used. The results showed microclimate conditions under PT had affected yield-forming components (in harvest 56th DAP). Earlier removing of PT (25th DAP) increased the total tuber mass/hill (TTM), mass of ware potatoes/hill (MWP) by 32.1 %, 52.1 % in Praha-Suchdol, but only by 16.5 %, 16.4 % in Přerov n. Labem in comparison with the variant where the PT was removed later (45th DAP). The higher TTM, MWP by 22.8 %, 31.7% was observed at the site Praha-Suchdol (comparison with site Přerov n. Labem).
