| - Tento článek seznamuje čtenáře s problematikou videokonference a možnostmi jejího využití. Videokonference umožňuje lidem ze dvou a více vzdálených míst komunikovat tzn. možnost vidět se a slyšet se současně. Připojením PC k videokonferenčnímu systému lze také kromě spojení obrazu a zvuku docílit přenosu grafiky a dat. Videokonferenční technologie se stávají velice populární formou komunikace snižující společnostem náklady na cestování zaměstnanců za účelem návštěvy výukových kurzů ve vzdáleném místě. Videokonference je dále široce používána v soukromém sektoru, státní správě i na akademické půdě v oblasti podpory e-learningových kurzů. Videokonference rovněž slouží k přenosu konferencí a seminářů. V poslední době jsou videokonferenční tehnologie také používány v oblasti medicíny v následujících případech: vzdálené konzultace, e-learning v medicíně, přenos operací, znalostní výuka v medicíně atd. - This paper introduces the reader to the topics of videoconferencing and possibilities how to use it. The videoconferencing technology allows people at two or more remote locations to see and hear each other at the same time. Videoconferencing together with video and audio contact may also support graphics and data exchange by connecting a PC to the videoconferencing technology. The videoconferencing technology has become a very popular way of communication, reducing the costs of travel for employees to attend training courses at remote locations. Videoconference is widely used in the private sector, in administration, as well as in the academic sphere mainly in providing e-learning courses. Videoconferencing is also used for transmitting conferences, workshops, meetings in the business area. Videoconferencing solutions also find their use in the field of medical care in the following cases: remote consultations, distance medical teaching, transmission of surgical intervention, expert medical instruct
