Description
  • The goal of this paper is to identify the main vegetation factor in terrain, which are important for the transportation analyses and cartographic visualization, especially for the rescue operations management during the crises situations and disasters such as fires, storm, earthquakes, when we cannot use road net for transportation. Both of the vegetation parameters and technical vehicles parameters are important for the cross-country movement analyses procedures focussed on the shortest, fastest, or securest path in terrain finding and displaying. The main goal of this paper is the determination od the vehicle driving through a forest. In this paper are included the results of the cross-country mobility analyses using mathematical methods. There were laboratory and terrain testes and measurement provided in the reserch to verify that methods. For the tests we used the basic rescue (wheel and tracked) vehicles and common ArcGIS software (icluded CCM extension) for the evaluation and cartographic displaying of the research results. Since 1999 we have provided one from the most extensive terrain research testes in the vehicle training area Brezina (Czech Republic) to verify the vehicles ability to cross the forests and to verify the vegetation data charcteristics demands corresponding with the dimensions and other technical vehicles parameters. The particular results of that research was also a cross-country mobility maps 1:25000 for main special vehicles (heavy wheeled and tracked vehicles, personal vehicles and so on) which are able to go across forest.
