Description
  • During heat-treatment the compound layer containing nitrides was dissolved. Moreover austenite was saturated by nitrogen, carbion and alloy elements. During drawing of nitrogen martensite the transient metastable nitride Fe16N3 was created and is transformed to nitride Fe4N at 180°C. In presence of carbon and alloy elements the complex carbonitride are created. The significant influence of structure condition of steel befor nitriding process on condition of surface layer after queching and drawing at 180°c is obvious from the microhardness trend HV 0,05. This influence is increased during drawing.
