Description	Terminology is a part of study programmes at most universities around the world, and the University of Defence is no exception. Teachers at the Language Training Centre are trying to apply new and more effective ways of teaching and learning terminology, and Information and Communication Technologies help them in their effort. Traditional lessons would usually begin by presenting new vocabulary/terminology words and asking students to write the words, find definitions in a dictionary or the glossary of a textbook, match words to definitions, or use these words in a sentence. In this model of instruction, words are often presented in isolation and students are tested on the words alone, without application to concepts. Nowadays we do not teach students isolated words but instead to solve problems, make effective briefings and presentations, and to discuss and defend their opinions - especially in speaking about issues in which particular terminology is relevant. Information and communication technologies help both teachers and students to teach and learn terminology. This article presents and reflects on experiences dealing with terminology training, from a practical and professional perspective.
