Description	Two new nematode species of Philometra are described from belonid fishes off the Fao coast, Basrah, Persian Gulf, in Iraq: P. strongylurae sp. n. from the subcutaneous tissue, muscles and gills of Strongylura leiura (type host) and S. strongylura, and P. tylosuri sp. n. from the musculature and the subcutaneous tissue of Tylosurus crocodilus. A key to Philometra spp. parasitic in the subcutaneous tissue, fins or musculature of fishes is provided.
