(en) Z údajů o pohlavní aktivitě ploštice Pyrrhocoris apterus, získaných vyhodnocením videozáznamů za pomocí The Observer systému, bylo zjištěno, že jak k pokusům samců o spáření tak i ke kopulacím docházelo u obou křídelních morf hlavně během fotofáze. U makropterních párů docházelo ke spáření o 2 hodiny dříve než u párů od brachypterní morfy. Nižší aktivita páření makropterních párů byla způsobena hlavně nízkou receptivitou samic a částečně také nižší energičností a temperamentem samců. (cs)
