| - During the summer of 2006, disturbances in the form of dramatic summer storms had a crucial effect on phytoplankton succession and its vertical distribution in the eutrophic Římov Reservoir. Two extreme rainfalls substantially increased flushing rate, yielding a fairly short retention time within the reservoir that disrupted established thermal stratification. The first storm initiated the development of summer phytoplankton, while the second storm reversed the phytoplankton succession to an earlier stage. Biogenic Si deposition studied by PDMPO was measured to compare diatom growth rates over the season. Maximum rates of silica deposition were measured in samples just after both summer storms events. When diatoms dominated the phytoplankton, the amounts of available Si and P in water were significantly correlated (r2 = 0.81, p < 0.001, df = 42). Outliers from the linear relationship were found only during a period when picocyanobacteria developed in the reservoir.

- Během léta 2006 jsme měřili vliv extrémních srážek na sezónní vývoj a vertikální změny rozložení fytoplanktonu v nádrži Římov. Dva extrémní přívaly výrazně zkrátily dobu zdržení a narušily teplotní stratifikaci nádrže. První liják v podstatě inicioval rozvoj letního fytoplanktonu, zatímco druhý zvrátil vývoj fytoplanktonu směrem k předchozímu sukcesnímu stavu. Měření ukládání Si u rozsivek ukázalo, že po obou přívalech došlo ke zvýšení růstové rychlosti rozsivek. V obdobích, kdy dominovali rozsivky, množství Si a P ve vodě bylo vzájemně korelováno (r2 = 0.81, p < 0.001, df = 42). Tato lineární závislost byla pozorušena v obdobích, kdy došlo k rozvoji pikosinic, které snížily množství P ve vodě a a zároveň přispěly ke zvýšení koncentrace Si.
