Description	Koncentrace rozpuštěného organického uhlíku (DOC) v povrchových vodách původně zaledněných oblastí severovýchodní Ameriky a severní a střední Evropy rostou od 90. let 20. století. Rostoucí trendy koncentrací DOC v testovaných 522 odlehlých jezerech a tocích souvisí se změnou chemismu atmosférické depozice a citlivostí povodí ke kyselé depozici. Výsledky ukazují, že koncentrace DOC rostou úměrně k poklesu depozice antropogenní síry a mořského aerosolu. (cs) Concentrations of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the surface waters of glaciated landscapes across eastern North America and northern and central Europe have been increasing since the early 1990s. Time series data from 522 remote lakes and streams show that the rising trends in DOC can be concisely explained by changes in deposition chemistry and catchment acid-sensitivity. We demonstrate that DOC concentrations have increased in proportion to the rate at which atmospherically deposited anthropogenic sulphur and seasalt has declined.
