  • Patterns of cyprinid migration were studied in fishway located at lock on the Elbe River weekly from spring to fall 2003. 24 hrs observations of fish were made with a fishcounter. The counter records revealed distinct diel patterns of migration. During spring fish migrated mostly during light part of a day, in summer and fall this pattern changed. Water temperature and illumination intensity were found as major driving forces initiating spawning migration and controlling its development and diel pattern. This hypothesis was verified by significant influence of interaction of weather and atmospheric pressure on number of migrating fish. Because of circling of fish within a pool and between adjacent pools of the fishway was common behavioural pattern, overestimates of fish migration activity occurred, especially in downstream direction. It points out that circling behaviour and effect of weather condition on fish migration should be taken into account in every fishway monitoring effort.

  • Charakter migrace kaprovitých ryb byl studován na rybím přechodu na zdymadle na řece Labi, a to každý týden od jara do podzimu 2003. 24-hodinové sledování ryb bylo provedeno počítadlem. Počitadlo zaznamenalo jasný denní průběh migrace. Během jara ryby migrovaly hlavně ve světelné části dne, v létě a na pozdim se charakter změnil. Hlavními faktory iniciujícími třecí migraci a kontrolujícími její vývoj a denní průběh byly teplota vody a intenzita světla. Tato hypotéza byla ověřena průkazným vlivem interakce počasí a atmosférického tlaku na počet migrujících ryb. Protože krouživé chování ryb v rámci jedné i mezi dvěma přilehlými komorami přechodu bylo běžné, docházelo k nadhodnocení migrační aktivity ryb, zvláštně ve směru po proudu. To naznačuje, že krouživé chování ryb a vliv počasí na migraci by měly být brány v potaz při každém úsilí o monitorování migrací rybími přechody. (cs)
