  • Zvukové pole vědeckého echolotu (120 kHz) bylo mapováno pomocí standardního cíle v mělkém přítoku řeky Dunaj v rámci monitorování třecí migrace ostroretky stěhovavé (Chondrostoma nasus). Sledovaný trojúhelníkovitý profil měl šířku 15 m a maximální hlouku 2.15 m. V dolní části kuželu ultrazvuku, která se dotýkala dna docházelo k zesílení signálu až o 8 dB, zatímco v horní polovině kuželu zůstávalo pole nezměněno. Důvodem bylo pravděpodobně cylindrické šíření zvuku místo sférického. Pro správné zjišťování velikosti proplouvajících ryb je nutno požít korekční faktory odpovídající naměřenému zesílení intenzity pole. (cs)
  • Sound field mapping was carried out in a shallow tributary of River Danube before calibrated horizontally bottom-aligned 120 kHz elliptical split beam was used to record upstream migration of rheophilic nase (Chondrostoma nasus). In order to test homogeneous propagation of the sound at the sampling site (width = 15 m, depth = 2.15 m) with triangle cross section, target strength of standard calibration sphere was measured in different range and depth positions in the beam. Inhomogeneous sound-spreading was revealed with amplification of signals in the lower part of the beam close to the bottom up to + 8 decibels (dB), whereas signals in the upper part were unbiased. The fact that the lower margin of the beam was slightly grazing the bottom could have caused amplification due to cylindrical spreading of the sound. For appropriate sizing of bottom oriented upstream migrating fish in lower part of the beam correction factors had to be applied.
