Description	The present invention provides modified yeast cell lines and their use in screening procedures for identifying inhibitors of the expression of the hexose transporter genes by a positive phenotype. It is especially suited to screen for substances that re-sensitize resistant pathogenic microorganisms or tumor cells by suspending the expression of resistance-relevant genes. The invention further provides methods for constructing said cell lines and their use in screening systems.
