Description	The main goal of this paper is to suggest to a computer assembling company the optimal replacement of the most critical computer component according to the criterion of the minimum quarantee repairs costs during a warranty period. The component that can potentially cause a dysfunctional state of a computer was identified using the failure tree analysis method. The guarantee repair costs were calculated using a simulation of the most critical component lifetime in different user environments. Particular component lifetimes and user loads were used as different simulation inputs for different computer types. The statistical distribution of simulation inputs was based on theoretical curve fitting the sample data. Distribution parameters for sample data were estimated using the Maximum Likelihood Method. The simulation was performed in the @RISK program.
