Description
| - The paper presents preliminary results of probe diagnostics of surfatron-based argon plasma. Plasma is formed in quartz tube, which is placed in the surfatron cavity powered by a microwave magnetron generator. The plasma inside the tube is sustained downstream by a surface wave, which propagates along the plasma column. We performed double probe measurement in the plasma exiting from the nozzle in different experimental setup: we determined electron temperature dependence on the axial and radial probe position with respect to the nozzle axis in broad range of vessel pressures and input microwave power. In the future we plan to use the surfatron plasma source for material processing and possibly also in the area of biomedicine (e.g. for sterilization ofsurgery tools, increasing of biocompatibility of materials used in prothetics, coagulation of superficial wounds etc.).
