| - Kniha Tu se jim otevřely oči zkoumá tři zásadní aspekty fundamentální teologie v díle předního katolického teologa 20. století, kardinála Avery Dullese SJ, který ovlivnil několik generací, nejen amerických, teologů. V České republice je dílo kardinála Dullese dosud jen málo známé. Předkládaná kniha si tedy klade za cíl, tuto skutečnost napravit. Zaměřuje se především na zmapování Dullesovy teologie zjevení, teologie víry a teologie církve. Ještě předtím však svému čtenáři přibližuje v životopisném prologu osobnost kardinála Dullese a pokouší se tak přiřadit k představovaným myšlenkám konkrétní lidskou tvář.

- Avery cardinal Dulles SJ (1918-2008) was an outstand?ing Catholic theologian, the leading ecclesiologist in the United States, and one of the most prolific fundamen?tal theologians of the 20th century. %22Then their eyes were opened,%22... (Luke 24, 31) the title of this book refers to the basic Christian experience with Jesus Christ, who reveals himself (Deus revelatus), and hides himself again (Deus absconditus), leaving people alone with their faith. Such faith brings his disciples together - leads towards com?munion, where faith is shared. This book tries to present reflections of Avery cardinal Dulles on the basic notions of fundamental theology such as revelation, faith and the Church. These seemingly separated themes are presented as mutually interconnected and pointing towards certain %22inner dynamics of Christian life%22 - life based on revela?tion, powered by faith and conducted by the Church. To give the face to the ideas presented inside this book, the biographical chapter about Avery cardinal Dulles SJ is included. This chapter is followed by presentation of his symbolic realism, which might be also recognized as his theological method. The present text is by no means ex?haustive, rather than that, it wants to be an invitation to read works of an interesting US theologian and maybe also to pay more attention to fundamental theology as a crucial theological discipline.
