| - In the context of global climate change wetlands are considered mostly as a negative agent because of 1. their emission of greenhouse gasses, mostly methane (e.g. van Bodegome et al. 2004) and 2. their low albedo which is supposed to result in temperature increase in their surroundings (e.g. Schneider and Eugster, 2007). We consider the second point controversial as wetlands are able to cool themselves by evapotranspiration. In the presented study we focus on temperature regime of wetlands compared with several other biotopes. We deal with two questions: 1. How is temperature regime influenced by soil water content during vegetation season? 2. Does surface temperature of different biotopes differ during a sunny summer day according to their wetness and NDVI?
