  • Downstream migrations of fish over a rotation screen were studied at a hydroelectric power station in Hadamar/Hessen, Germany. This study monitored and evaluated the functionality and effi-ciency of the rotation screen in order to prevent fish from entering the Kaplan turbine. During one autumn and two spring tests, a total of 1,629 specimens representing 25 species including eel and salmon smolt migrated over the screen. The smallest fish (dace, bleak, three-spined stickleback, and perch) from stan-dard lengths <=30 mm were carried by scoop buckets mounted on the rotation screen. The tests confirmed in all cases that the migration activity of fish depended unambiguously on the diurnal cycle (P < 0.05).

  • Poproudové migrace ryb na rotačních česlích byly zkoumány na malé vodní elektrárně Hadamar/Hessen, Německo. Tato studie kontrolovala a zhodnotila funkčnost a výkonnost rolovacích česlí za účelem prevence ryb před vstupem do Kaplanovy turbiny. Dva metry vysoké, vysoce jakostní ocelové pásy s oky 15 x 8 mm s nastavitelnou rotací byly instalovány pod úhlem 45 ° k zadržení ryb vně turbiny. Při testech na podzim 2002, na jaře 2003 a 2004 migrovalo 1 629 jedinců zastoupených 25 druhy včetně eels, salmon smolts. Jelec proudník, ouklej obecná, koljuška tříostná a okoun říční byly vynášeny korýtky na rolovacích česlích již <= 30 mm délky těla, dalších 6 druhů kaprovitých ryb a štika obecná mezi 30 - 40 mm délky těla.V roce 2002 migrovalo nejvíce ryb mezi 17 - 18 hod., v roce 2003 mezi 18 - 19 hod. a v roce 2004 mezi 21 - 22 hodinou.
