  • The range of genetic variability of cultivated crops is relatively low compared to the whole germplasm diversity of a particular crop plant. Although oil seed rape (Brassica napus L.) was domesticated only relatively recently, breeding of B. napus (canola, oil seed rape, rapeseed) and other oil seed Brassicas has been very intensive in the last few decades, but has focused only on several of the most important agronomic/economic traits. Because of the convergent character of this process in all areas of rape breeding, the genetic basis of new cultivars has been decreasing.   • Rozsah genetické variability pěstovaných plodin je relativně nízký při porovnání s celkovou diverzitou dané plodiny. Ačkoli řepka byla domestikována relativně nedávno, šlechtění řepky je velmi intensivní a bylo zaměřeno jen na několik hospodářsky a agronomicky významných znaků. Genetická základna nových odrůd je velmi úzká a je poměrně obtížné charakterizovat odrůdy řepky jen na základě fenotypu. Nové deskriptory, jako jsou molekulární markery mohou být použity pro popis a identifikaci odrůd. Ve srovnání s morfologickými znaky, molekulární markery mají řadu výhod a jsou s úspěchem využívány při registraci odrůd a jejich dentifikaci, hodnocení čistoty osiva. (cs)
