  • The research is engaged in the influence of drainage on the landscape functioning. The investigation is taking place in the central part of the National Park Sumava, in the cooperation with Administration (NP). For this project, three catchments in the upper Šumava area were chosen: 1. The Roklanský and Modravský streams catchment (94 km2); 2. Kvildský stream and the upper part of Teplá Vltava (23 km2); 3. Hamerský stream (21 km2).These catchments were chosen because the water balance of each could be measured. Also, there were large differences in the extent of drainage in each catchment. The first catchment, to a large extent, had been heavily disturbed by infestations of barkbeetle and die-back of trees. The network of drainage ditches were mapped in the field with the help of GPS. Fluctuations in the outflow will be evaluated from Czech Hydrometeorological Institute data. Local air and ground temperatures were measured using temperature data-loggers.   • Pro účely této práce byly zvoleny tři povodí nalézající se v centrální části Šumavy: povodí Roklanského a Modravského potoka (94 km2) povodí povodí horního toku Teplé Vltavy k soutoku s Kvildským potokem (23 km2), povodí Hamerského potoka (21 km2). Důvodem volby právě těchto povodí je možnost využití hydrologické datové řady z ČHMÚ, rozdílná míra kůrovcové kalamity a předpokládaný rozdílný podíl odvodněných ploch.Práce prezentuje předběžné výsledky s cílem ukázat metodické přístupy, zejména dálkového průzkumu země a přiblížení některých možných souvislostí týkajících se odvodnění Šumavy.V současné době je zmapována podstatná část melioračních rýh a převedena do prostředí GIS. Na základě vektorových linií budou dále stanoveny polygony odvodněných ploch a tato data budou dále korelována s třídami relativních teplot a vlhkostí krajinného krytu a hodnotami jejich změn v čase. Podle prvních výsledků mapování lze usuzovat, že k antropogennímu odvodnění došlo u převážné většiny modravských slatí (cs)
