Description
  • The paper deals with finite element modelling of muscle tissues in problems when inertia forces cannot be neglected. Deformations of the tissue are described using the total Lagrangian formulation. For numerical integration of the momentum equations the energy conserving scheme is employed. The stress in the material is defined in terms of micro-component contributions, as proposed by the authors. A simplified model of the three, or two parametric smooth muscle activation is given. Computational aspects are discussed in examples.
