Description
  • This paper presents a design of a packet sniffer. The designed sniffer is intended for wireless networks which utilize the AODV routing protocol. The packet sniffer is used for a packet capturing and monitoring of the self-designed tiny AODV routing protocol stack, which is primarily intended to embedded applications with constrained resources. For testing purposes, the~physical layer of CC430 microcontroller from the Texas Instruments company is used. This work was motivated by the need of a packet analyzer tool capable to capture and parse routing protocol packets within the sensor wireless network, mainly during designing process, optimization and operation. Data from the~packet sniffer are transferred to the personal computer, are visualized in a real-time and stored for a further analysis.
