  • Kapitola prináša teoretický úvod do problematiky výskumov obetí ako nástroja určeného na skúmanie skutočnej kriminality. Viktimačné výskumy sú predstavené v kontexte ostatných zdrojov informácií o trestnej činnosti, ako sú oficiálne štatistické údaje či self-reportové štúdie. Stručne je prezentovaná charakteristika tohto výskumného nástroja s akcentom na silné i slabé stránky. Priestor je ďalej venovaný histórii a vývoju jednotlivých druhov výskumov s dôrazom na najvýznamnejšie projekty v tejto oblasti vo svete.
  • The chapter provides the theoretical insight into the topic of victimization surveys as a tool for measuring the extent of real crime. Victimization surveys are presented in the context of other sources of information on crime, such as official statistics and self-report studies. Main characteristics of this research tool with an emphasis on its strengths and weaknesses are presented as well. Subsequent part is dedicated to the history and development of various kinds of this research tool with a focus on the most important projects in this field in the world. (en)
