Description	Design and functioning of financial sector and its efficiency will be seriously influenced by Basel II rules. They bring (in comparison with Basel I rules used now) some important changes, above all by setting the capital charge to cover the operationalrisk and by wider conception of market risks. Never the less the credit risk stays the basis of Basel II rules. The paper estimates expected capital charge in banking sector in selected countries caused by Basel II introduction and compares the result with existing capital adequacy.
