Description	The variety spoken in Granada (Spain) presents singular features developed due to the late conquest of this territory and also due to the expansion of the city during the second half of the 20th century. The paper deals with the prestige of particular variants, which are typical for the variety of Granada, because this information is important in respect of their evolution process. The study pays particular attention to the relation between the two forms of imperfect subjunctive cantara/cantase and various phonetic phenomena that can be observed in this city. The hypothesis builds on the assumption that the speakers who alternate the two forms of imperfect subjunctive are more conscious of the prestigious forms and for this reason they also use the prestigious variants on phonetic level. (en) El habla de Granada refleja particularidades determinadas por la reconquista tardía de este territorio, y también por la expansión de la ciudad durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El artículo observa el prestigio de las particulares variantes lingüísticas que aparecen en el habla de Granada, ya que es un dato importante que aporta mucha información respecto a su proceso evolutivo. El estudio se dedica en detalle a las relaciones entre el prestigio de las dos formas del imperfecto de subjuntivo cantara/cantase y los varios fenómenos fonéticos que se pueden observar en esta ciudad andaluza. La hipótesis parte de la premisa de que los hablantes que alternan el uso de las dos terminaciones del imperfecto de subjuntivo son más conscientes de las pautas de prestigio y van a utilizar también formas de prestigio a nivel fonético
