Description
  • Many attempts have been done in the past to find a suitable model describing the binding cell, i.e. to express mathematically the shape of the binding wave in a given thread crossing in the fabric in the steady state. Peirce model, Ollofsson model, hyperbolic model, parabolic shapes are known as the most used models. These models are related to the plain weave. Other than plain kinds of interlacing could theoretically rise from models created before. However, additional mathematical formulations used for expressing the un-regularity of interlacing in bindings, that are more complex, describe the real binding conditions in a not very satisfying manner. This paper is focused on introduction of mathematical model for description of binding waves in plain as well as non-plain threads interlacing in woven fabric using the Fourier series.
