  • This paper deals with efficiency evaluation of selected methods for automatic assessing of weaving density based on image analysis for different kind of fabrics. Set of fabrics samples in plain, satin and twill weave and patterned fabrics were selected for assessing weaving density. Images of samples were captured by flat scanner followed by preprocessing by reason of enhancement of images. Selected methods included gray line profile method, method based on image decomposition with Wiener and median filter, method based on cooccurrence matrix and method used 2 dimensional discrete Fourier transform. The results show that any method is suitable for all kind of fabrics in general. Methods computationally less complex are useful for basic unpatterned weaves.
