Description
| - The acoustics of the space is influenced by applying suitable absorptive materials as proper cladding or by its building into the suitable structural elements. Fibrous materials are commonly used. Nanofibers, as a new progressive material, are made by electrostatic spinning process from polymer solution. The nanofiber layer, which functions as a resonant membrane, is from the point of view of absorption capacity good sound absorber thanks to its large specific surface. The characteristics of this new acoustically effective material are based on the resonance principle of the nanofiber layer dampened by the absorptive fibrous layer so that the biggest possible amount of sound energy in a wide frequency band is absorbed. The excellent characteristics of nanofiber layers are made by the large specific surface of nanofibers, where viscous losses can occur, and by the ability of the nanofiber layer to resonate at its own frequency.
