Description
  • Presented paper deals with contactless scanning of the surface of the human body. The main focus is 2D active triangulation method used for scanning the surface of the body of the handicapped - wheelchair bound – people in laboratory conditions. The paper focuses on scanning the human body from the anthropological point of view, with special emphasis on its application in clothing industry. A method using holography and laser beams has been chosen for this purpose. The outcome is a 3D sitting figure composing of a cluster of points which can be rotated and thus seen from different angles. It can also be cut by vertical, horizontal and sloping planes. Height, width, surface and girth dimensions were measured on the sitting figure. The resulting data become a basis for evaluating the accuracy of the used contactless method.
