Description
  • The weld strength usually depends on several parameters. Propably one of the most important parameter during ultrasonic welding of plastics is an energy director joint. This is a small surface, which creates mating parts both welded specimens. During welding this energy director joint is melted, others surfaces on specimens are not melted! The shape and geometry of this director joint have a very important influence on weld strength and are different for various types of plastics. This paper deals with two basic geometry of energy director joint for polyamide during ultrasonic welding of plastics.
