  • This paper deals with a comparison of chosen RP technologies and their use in the glass industry. Glass products are unique in terms of their surface structure that is caused by manufacturing method (grinding) and complication of their shape. It is very important for prototype parts to be getting as near as possible to demand surface quality. Chosen material should have identical optical properties as a glass and that is why amorphous polymer PMMA was used for creating of this part. Another advantage of this material is its excellent machinability. The every single step of programming in CAD/CAM system EdgeCAM and also a manufacturing of individual parts of a final prototype assembly on Mazak Integrex 100 machining centre are described in this article. This task is solved in the frame of research programme of MSM 4674788501.
