Description
| - Numerical studies of the incompressible turbulent flows calculated using a self-developed computational code based on the finite-element method with a pressure stabilized Petrov-Galerkin and streamline upwind Petrov-Galerkin approach are introduced. The turbulence effect occurring in a flow is calculated by means of the hybrid URANS/LES model represented by die Detached-Eddy Simulation (DES) approach or its improved variation the Delaycd-Detached-Eddy Simulation (DDES). It was found that the numerical results provided by DES were in good agreement to experiments or LES calculations; however DDES results corresponded better to direct numerical simulations. Furthermore, other numerical studies with the effect of the magnetic field on the electrically conducting fluids are presented briefly as well.
