Description	This article deals with surface finishes of the machine sewing needles and their hold on mechanical stress of the machine sewing nedlees in the sewing process. These needles are important a construction and a function element sewing machines. First of all they influence an expensive way a quality sewn seam over the synthetic material which they are using for seats and airbags upholstery car`s. The information search is devoted the a surface finishes sewing needles which they are resisting warmer temperatures. The experimental part is dedicated on the mechanical tests of the machine sewing needles with different surface finish and on the interpretation their applicability for mechanical stress. (en) Příspěvek se zabývá povrchovými úpravami strojních šicích jehel a jejich vlivem na mechanické namáhání strojních šicích jehel ve spojovacím procesu . Tyto strojní šicí jehly jsou důležitým konstrukční a funkčním prvkem šicích strojů. Především výrazným způsobem ovlivňují kvalitu šitého spoje u syntetických materiálů, které se užívají k čalounění sedáků a airbagů automobilů.. Rešeršní část je věnována povrchovým úpravám strojních šicích jehel, které odolávají vyšším teplotám. Experimentální část je zaměřena na mechanické zkoušky strojních šicích jehel s různou povrchovou úpravou a vyhodnocení jejich vhodnosti pro mechanické namáhání. (cs)
