Description
  • Rapidly solidified powder with Fe-3%C-3%Cr-12%V-1%Co (CH3F12K) composition was made by nitrogen gas spraying technique. Various microstructural types were observed in powder particles, whereas the size, shape and distribution of main features were determined to be closely related to the solidification conditions, being represented by powder size in particular. After hipping, the compact material exhibited almost full density. The microstructure consisted of matrix and fine, uniformly distributed MC carbides. In as-hardened condition the material consisted of the martensite, small portion of retained austenite and MC carbides and, the maximal hardness reached over 67 HRC
