Description	These Regions (of states) employ a variety of measures when implementing their policies in order to address current and futures challenges including unemployment and structural problems. One of them is cooperation with other regions, even with non-neighbour....regions. The focus of the study is on a newly established cooperation between the Ústí region (the Czech Republic) and the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina). With regard to the background of macroeconomic development, the article compares and analyses selected socio-economic determinants surrounding developments prior to the economic crisis in both regions.
