Description	In the region of Central and Eastern Europe results of international comparative projects show relatively fast real convergence of the most new member states to the level of the old ones as time goes by. These measurements, however, incorporate mid term development of aggregate productivity, convergence in industries integrating trade and investments and very often over-employment in state-regulated industries such as healthcare and education. On the other hand WEF comparisons provide rankings of countries based on a much broader scale of individual metrics. In this manuscript we compare the positioning of CEE countries in the rankings by GDP in PPP per capita with the rankings for the same set of countries generated by comparing the growth competitiveness of WEF. Different positioning of countries in both kinds of the analysis is further decomposed and interpreted.
