Description
| - Humans rely on dietary sources not only for macronutrients, which provide energy, but also for micronutrients and fatty acids that are indispensable for normal physiological processes. In particular, subset of unsaturated fatty acids - termed essential fatty acids - have gained importance in the recent years as important elements of health. Thus strategies to naturally enrich food with these essential fatty acids have been investigated intensely, yielding a rich source of data set. Using published data available on the effect of nutrient regime on beef fatty acid composition, a meta-analysis was conducted in order to provide a visually meaningful comparative overview. This work strives to explore the advantages of visualizing such meta-analyses. Though interesting patterns emerge from such visualization, they come from a limited data set due to the absence of extensive available literature.
