Description
  • The main object of the study is agricultural importance of bioactive compounds from micro- or macroalgae. The aim of research is establishment an efficient bioassay to finding strigolactone-like molecules in algae and to determinate of their possible role as efficient organism stimulating or inhibiting germination of seeds of parasitic plants. It´s known, that some of soil algae, such as Nostoc sp. can inhibit phytopathogenic fungi. Selection strains of algae for screening to determine their effect on the germination of parasitic plants are partly based on already known facts about the presence of biologically active compounds with biofungicid activity of these strains.
