Description
| - Differences in N application systems for grassland were studied in small plot trials in Troubsko, situated in a sugar beet growing region. The intergeneric hybrids Perseus and Felina were divided into two groups. The first group was grown with conventional fertilizer application ANC (ammonium nitrate with calcite), the other group with the CULTAN fertilization. In both groups three levels of N were applied: 0, 90 kg N.ha-1 and 180 kg N.ha-1. The trial was carried out for two years with three cuts each year. During the cuts grass samples were collected to determine quantitative (dry matter production) and qualitative parameters of forage (fibre content, crude protein-CP, net energy for gain-NEG, net energy for lactation-NEL, protein digested in the small intestine PDIE, PDIN). With respect to these parameters two systems of fertilizer application were compared. It can be concluded that forage quality and yield data obtained with the CULTAN system are comparable to the data obtained with ammonium nitrate and limestone (ANC).
