Description	The research was based on samples taken from six various mediaeval buildings and ten historical quarries. All of the sites are located in the Czech Republic. The research was mainly focused on revealing the natural sources of ACS from the examined historical buildings that could be used for future restorations. Further, the research was focused on an evaluation of the state of the historical constructions and an assessment of the causes of their deterioration. At the research, means of light microscopy, electron microanalysis, and chemical analysis were applied. The analytical results were accompanied by laboratory tests, such as the frost resistance test. Correlations between humidity and the occurrence of the authigenic mineral assemblages were also made.
