  • Fatigue crack growth is simulated. For general 3-D object, a stress intensity factor for given crack-tip position is determined by a finite element method in the ANSYS system. Calculated parameters for samples of simple geometry are compared to published empirical values. After appropriate methodology development, a fatigue life of reciprocate compressor could be extended.
