Description
  • Effect of three different types of heat treatment conditions on fatigue strength of low alloy 42SiCr steel was investigated: (i) as received hot rolled material, (ii) classically heat treated material (quenched and tempered) and (iii) heat treated material using advanced quenching and partitioning (Q-P) process. Results of fatigue tests in combination with fractographical analysis showed significant differences concerning effects of inclusions on fatigue crack initiation evaluated as a dependence on the type of heat treatment of the samples.
