Description
  • Water jet cutting was applied to Al sheets of very different thickness, namely 1.28 mm and 50.8 mm. Fatigue resistance of water cut specimens was investigated. Unlike the thin sheets, where results were encouraging, character of surface damage of sheets of the thickness 50.8 mm resulted in a reduction of fatigue strength. The results are discussed considering microscopic analysis of surface conditions after water cutting.

  • Na plechy z Al slitiny velmi rozdílné tloušťky, konkrétně 1.28 mm a 50.8 mm bylo aplikováno řezání vodním paprskem. Byla sledována únavová odolnost vzorků po řezu vodním paprskem. Narozdíl od tenkých plechů, kde výsledky byly nadějné, charakter povrchového poškození plechů tloušťky 50.8 mm způsobil pokles únavové pevnosti. Výsledky jsou diskutovány s uvážením mikroskopických analýz povrchových podmínek po řezu vodním paprskem. (cs)
