  • Internationalisation seems to be one of the principal challenges for SMEs. An important role in internationalisation activities is played by the extent of knowledge available to the enterprise, and to what extent the enterprise uses it in its activities. The aim of the present article is to point out some problems facing some Czech SMEs that are due to their insufficient utilization of marketing knowledge. The first part of the article analyses the quality and utilization of marketing knowledge in the CCzech Republic. The second part contains preliminary results of a research project %22Internationalisation of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises in the Czech Republic%22 supported by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GA 402/02/0106). One of the aims ofthe project is to identify the key barriers hindering internationalisation activities of SMEs in the Czech Republic.
