Description	In the past few years, the new type of telecommunications, Voice over IP, is growing. At the point, very large number of small embedded devices is on the market offering very good price with reliability sufficient for home users, but not for professional use. For really reliable expert solution is often necessary to use very expensive commercial products. The other way is to use open source software and Linux platform. The main drawbacks of the open source solution are its hardware demands. The goal of this paper is to analyze the whole problematic and to find the solution how to adapt large the open source solutions to small resource constrained devices.
