Description
| - In the paper the methods for compensating the unfavourable properties of the transmission path in ADSL are compared. On the basis of measuring the transmission properties of the telephone channel during ADSL initialization the optimum coefficients of the FIR (Finite Impulse Response) digital filter are calculated. This filter realizes the TEQ (Time Domain Equalization) method and processes effectively the impulse response of transmission channel to the length of permitted cyclic prefix. In the liteerature, a number of algorithms for the solution of this problem are described, from which two basic groups of classical time-domain approach can be chosen: the MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) methods and the MSSNR (Maximum Shortening Signal to Noise Ratio) methods. In this paper the authors show the similarity between both classes of methods.
