Description
| - The combustion of low calorific value gases (LCVG) is becoming quite important in todays environmentally concerned world. There are actually two major reasons why interest in LCVG is increased. First, LCVG can be generated from multiple solid fuels feedstock, providing greater opportunity to use inexpensive and renewable fuels. Second, LCVG can be flexibly used for power generation, fuel production, or chemical manufacturing. Our field of interest is mostly focused on a LCVG, which is produced by biomass and waste gasification processes. This synthesis gas is generally a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, but it exhibits a large variability in composition, not only in the combustible gas content, but also in diluents and impurities. The article discusses problems and prospects associated with combustion of low calorific value gas.
