Description
| - This work is specialized to stress-strain deformation analysis of dental implant. Failures of osseointegrated implants have been associated with many factors, such as poor bone quality, lack of initial instability, overloading and fractures of implants and abutment screws. Fracture of these elements may be related with a poor fit of the framework, which leads to material fatigue, occlusal overload and intrinsic material failures. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of implant diameter and length on stress distribution and to analyze overload risk of clinically evidenced crestal bone loss at the implant neck in mandibular molar periimplant region. Stress-based performances of 4 implants (2 Nobel Biocare, Brĺnemark, and metric implant) were analyzed by linearly elastic 3-dimensional finite element simulations, under a static load. The masticatory load was simulated using an average masticatory force in a natural direction, oblique to the occlusal plane.
