  • Graphite irons are multicomponental systems of Fe-C-Si-Mn-i, where i presents another possible additional element. Chemical inhomogeneity of their matrix strongly affects their mechanical and physical properties, and therefore their technical usage. Elemental redistribution during eutectic crystallization is determined, among others, by the distribution coefficients of an element M between the austenite and the melt saturated with carbon. To describe the elemental redistribution, effective distribution coefficient kef(M) is used. The kef(M) is defined as the ratio of concentration of the element M near the graphite to that measured at the periphery of the eutectic cell. The contribution deals with comparison of kef(M) for Si, Ni and Mn in the as cast state and after heat treatment. Two different methods were used for the effective distribution coefficient determination.

  • Grafitické litiny představují polykomponentní systém Fe-C-Si-Mn-i, kde i představuje další možnou přísadu. Jejich chemická nehomogenita matrice významnou měrou ovlivňuje mechanické a fyzikální vlastnosti i možnosti použití litin v technické praxi. Přerozdělování prvků během eutektické krystalizace je určováno mimo jiné rozdělovacími koeficienty prvku M mezi austenit a taveninu nasycenou uhlíkem. K popisu přerozdělování prvků je používán efektivní rozdělovací koeficient kef(M) definovaný jako poměr změřené koncentrace prvku M u grafitu k jeho koncentraci na periferii eutektické buňky. Četná měření rozdělovacích koeficientů u grafitických litin ukazují, že prvky, které zvyšují termodynamickou aktivitu uhlíku se soustřeďují u grafitu a po ukončení krystalizace je jeho hodnota kef(M) 1. Jedná se o Si, Ni, Cu, Mg, P, S, Al i Co. Naopak karbidotvorné prvky jako Mn, Cr, V a Mo s veličinou zpravidla kef(M) 1 se soustřeďují na (cs)
