  • During the firing of brick bodies processes are occurring which cause remarkable changes of the brickmaking clays and lead to an incisive loss of their crystalline structure.   • Nevratná vlhkostní roztažnost cihlářských střepů patří mezi projevy chování látky, které se vyznačují určitou změnou objemu. Tato skutečnost s sebou může přinášet nebezpečí možné destrukce výrobku, jež je zabudován do stavby. Například v souvislosti s nedávnými haváriemi stropních desek Hurdis byla tato vlastnost často označována za jednu z jejich příčin. Hlavním tématem článku je posouzení možné souvislosti mezi vlhkostní roztažnosti střepu a jeho tzv. zatažením, které je pozorovatelné především při nižších vypalovacích teplotách v souvislosti s neprosákavostí střepu pálené střešní krytiny.
