Description	The article is a reflection of discussion of a Czech and Romanian economists´ group about a pre-entering economic reality of countries before the entrance into the integration groupage, as the EU is, as well about a development of the reality. On the base of the selected data, the description of the CR reality was made; the attention was paid to the advance in the years 2000 ? 2003, as a four ? year period before the entrance into the EU. Simultaneously, a collection of the relevant data of the year 2003 concerning the Romanian economy was made. In the article is referred to the different starting points of the both countries, as well positives and negatives of the Czech development, which the Romania could inspire and instruct from. It is an initial stage of the whole study, in which the mentioned group of economist is going to deal with ? now alone ? the development of economic conditions of the pre-entering period of Romania into the EU, and thus in the comparison with the Czech fresh past.
